Welcome to the BWBC

The Burlington Walk/Bike Council is an all-volunteer advisory council to the City of Burlington. We work closely with and advise the Department of Public Works and the Department of Parks & Recreation on infrastructure improvements and policy changes for bicycling and walking. The council also leads advocacy efforts and organizes events and activities that promote and celebrate walking and biking in Burlington and beyond. Anyone interested in making Burlington a better and safer place for bicycling and walking is encouraged to attend our meetings generally held on the 4th Thursday of each month in City Hall Room 12.

PlanBTV Walk-Bike Implementation Feedback Committee 75 minutes

The PlanBTV Walk-Bike Implementation Committee is a joint effort of the BWBC and Local Motion. The purpose of this committee is to provide DPW with feedback on the on-street walk-bike improvements being implemented in accordance with Burlington’s newly adopted PlanBTV Walk-Bike.

  1. Review and update on Active projects. The DPW will provide brief verbal updates on the current status and plans for the various projects anticipated for the near future, with limited time for questions. Extra time will be allowed for North Ave. (additional changes to improve on the pilot design), the Union St. protected bike lane pilot, and Pine St. bike connectivity improvements.
  2. Detailed update and review on selected projects. The DPW will provide a more detailed update on three projects: Pearl St. bike lanes and curb extension, Lakeview Terrace Greenway, and the ONE Greenway (Wiggle). There will be opportunity for questions, discussion, and comments on the proposed designs.
  3. Wrap-up and next steps.

See you there!
